This project will cover the cost of materials, site work, and road development and maintenance as part of the Maybell diversion and headgate construction project. Since 2021, the rising cost of construction materials, labor, fuel, and contractor fees escalated overall costs. The construction of a new Maybell diversion, once complete, will provide agricultural water security and allow passage of fish and paddlers at a location that currently impedes fish movement and poses a boating hazard. Maybell Irrigation District operates the largest diversion on the Yampa that serves 18 producers and over 1,200 acres of hay pasture. This proposal covers $951,884 of direct WSRF costs for materials and construction of the Maybell project.
