TNC “Maybell Diversion and Headgate Telemetry”

,

This WSRF-funded project will purchase telemetry equipment as part of the Maybell diversion restoration project on the Yampa River. Telemetry will enable remote communication with the diversion and headgate for more precise control of water in the ditch for irrigation, recreation, and environmental needs. The Maybell diversion restoration project, once complete, will allow safe passage of fish and paddlers at a location that currently impedes fish movement and poses a boating hazard. Maybell Irrigation District operates the largest diversion on the Yampa that serves 18 producers and over 1,200 acres of hay pasture. This proposal covers $100,000 of direct costs for the telemetry components of the Maybell project.
