The White River Conservation District ask to fund phase 2 of the White River Integrated Water Initiative based on the mission statement: “Community-based initiative to identify actions promoting a healthy river that ensures a vibrant agricultural community and maintains healthy fisheries while protecting water rights, quantity, and quality with respect for the local customs, cultures, and property rights.” In Phase 2, the Project Coordinator will maintain project momentum, continue community outreach, and coordinate planned assessments with landowners. Phase 2 also includes diversion structure and riparian health assessments. Collected information will help determine project opportunities that will benefit landowners, water right holders, the health of the river, and fish passages. As Phase 2 progresses, Project Coordinator will write a Plan of Work for Phase 3 that clearly delineates the next steps required including needed studies, modeling, and implementation of identified projects and will ultimately lead to an Integrated Water Management Plan in the future.
